California Governor Gavin Newsom contacted DealerXT about auto dealerships amid COVID-19 Shelter-In-Place orders.
The office of California Governor Gavin Newsom thanked DealerXT for providing important information to them regarding the necessity of car dealership sales to remain open during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Governor Gavin Newsom informed DealerXT. The request to resume car sales is under review by the Governor’s operations team. They are treating the requests seriously.
The California Governor’s office acknowledges our stance, as car sales align with the Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers exception. This recognition is supported by references in the Executive Order, particularly highlighting car sales in Transportation & Logistics, Other Government Operations, and Financial Services.
California Governor Gavin Newsom: Remaining open is solely the business’s decision.
Despite global order ambiguities, dealers should keep the Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers exception available if they proceed with sales. However, caution is advised as some counties, like Fresno, prohibit car sales.
